Bahraich: In recent weeks, a pack of wolves has unleashed terror in Uttar Pradesh, North India, killing seven people, including women and children, and injuring around 45 others. The attacks prompted the Indian Forest Department to launch ‘Operation Bhediya,’ an extensive effort to address the crisis. Under this operation, 15 forest teams have been deployed to track and capture the wolves using advanced technology such as drone cameras, infrared, and thermal imaging. A specialized cage and net have also been set up to prevent the wolves from entering residential areas.
As of the latest update, forest officials have successfully captured four of the six wolves identified as responsible for the attacks. Drones have played a crucial role in monitoring the wolves’ movements, and local villagers have been warned to stay vigilant.
Forest officials attribute the increased wolf activity to waterlogging caused by the rainy season, which has driven the animals out of their natural habitats and into human settlements. The operation continues with the goal of capturing the remaining two wolves and restoring safety to the affected communities in Bahraich and surrounding areas.
