Black Cat Car Rally flags off from Peoples’ Plaza, Hyderabad

City of Pearls flags off all-India car rally from the heart of Deccan Plateau to mark celebrations of 75 years of Independence near occasion of Vijay Dashmi

As part of the country’s celebration of its 75 years of Independence – christened as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ today we witnessed from the heart of the Deccan Plateau- HYDERABAD “The City of Pearls and of unmatched blend of history and modernity” the flag off of Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama. On its Day 16 the Black Cat Car Rally was flagged off from People’s Plaza, Necklace Road Hyderabad with full grandeur and fervor. The ceremony was attended by Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana and Hon’ble Lt Governor of Puducherry, Shri Anjani Kumar,IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Sh Shalin IPS, Inspector General, HQ National Security Guard, Sh. Preet Mohan Singh,DIG Group Centre CRPF, Hyderabad and eminent officials from Indian Army and Indian Air Force. The event witnessed cultural program by South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture which comprised of splendid performance of traditional folk dance of Telangana – “Oggu Dholu” and ancient Rural Martial Art of “Karra Saamu” and “Katti Saamu”. The performance also included mesmerizing performance of patriotic song by Miss Malvika Anand- the Yuva Gaana Kokila of Hyderabad.

On the occasion, Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana and Hon’ble Lt Governor of Puducherry, said: “We are glad to host the all-India car rally ‘Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama’ of National Security Guards as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence. I really appreciate the onus taken on by National Security Guard to spread the spirit of Pride, Unity and Patriotism amongst the people on their journey across the nation. This indeed will further strengthen the spirit and cause of “ATMA-NIRBHAR BHARAT”. I really appreciate the element of patriotism and self-dependence in the youth and I urge them to learn from the BLACK CAT COMMANDOS the discipline, self-sustenance and yet a strong connection with culture and traditions of the nation.

Sh Shalin IPS, Inspector General, HQ National Security Guard commented that city of the city has acted as a great host and witnessing the zeal amongst the youth is highly encouraging for bright future of the nation. The youth has turned up with an exceptional warmth and association with the cause of the rally. This indeed is a remarkable milestone and element of motivation for the team of Car Rally which is about to hit the mid-way of their month long journey.

Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the objective of this rally is to spread the message of mutual brotherhood by visiting historic places associated with the freedom struggle, to maintain the unity and integrity of the country by meeting the youth and inspiring them for patriotism, to pay tributes to all the patriots and martyrs of the freedom movement and to strengthen the spirit of national integration, patriotism and brotherhood among citizens and the youth. Flagged-off on Gandhi Jayanti – October 2, 2021, the country’s elite force started a 29-day long journey that will cover 7,500 kms at historical places associated with the freedom movement and freedom fighters. It will pass through 18 cities in 12 States of the country.
