Telangana Postal Circle, presented Dak Sewa Awards here in the city at Hotel the Plaza. Somesh Kumar, Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana was the Chief Guest of the function. Sri S. Rajendra Kumar, Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Circle and other officials were present on the occasion.
Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 Pandemic, Telangana Postal Circle ensured continuity of service, reflected by some of the highlights below:
- 14 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras have processed 2.06 Lakh Passports
- 6.52 Lakhs Enrolments & Updations done during the last TWO FYs through it’s 282 Aadhaar Centres
- 62 Thousand Vaccination registrations done during covid 2nd wave
- Rs 450 Cr Aasara Penskons disbursed every month to 21 lakh beneficiaries from 5578 locations
- Rs.86 Cr NREGS Wages paid every month on an average to 26 lakh beneficiaries from 5162 locations
- Rs 1303 Crs disbursed for DBT Services (AEPS) like Rythu Bandhu & PM Kisan Yojana
- Reaching the Unreached through distribution of study material to tribal students and collection of worksheets of 72000 students, who benefited during the pandemic
- Initiated eShop portal for enabling the online sale of GI products of artisans of Telangana
- 1500 Ton medicines and medical equipment transported from central medical stores to govt. hospitals and PHC’s of Telangana
- Print to Post solutions for ease of doing business
The Department of Posts honour its staff for excellence through the Meghdoot Awards and Dak Sewa awards every year.
This year employees were given opportunity to nominate prospective awardees to encourage employee participation and to democratise the process of nomination.
Shri Challa Sri Nagesh, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices, Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology, Hyderabad has been selected at National level for MEGHDOOTH Award for the year 2021 under the category of TECHNOLOGY EXCELLENCE.
The Dak Sewa awards are given in 8 different categories to outstanding performers at the State/ Circle level every year. The main criteria for selecting the awardees is an unblemished record of service, the performance and productivity of the employee, devotion to the duty, leadership qualities and contribution of the employee in improving the image of the department.
