Budget Aimed at Public Welfare and Inclusive Development: Minister Vivek Venkatswamy

It will set a new direction for the state’s development

Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G Vivek Venkatswamy stated that the budget 2026-27 is being designed in line with the aspirations of the people, with a strong focus on the welfare of all sections of society.

Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, he criticized the previous BRS government for burdening the state with heavy debt due to high-interest loans. Despite inheriting debts amounting to nearly ₹8 lakh crore, he said the Congress government is set to present a people-approved budget.

The Minister described the budget to be presented by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka as a “revolutionary budget”, stating that it will set a new direction for the state’s development.
He further noted that within two years of assuming office, the Congress government has paid nearly ₹3 lakh crore towards interest on loans. Despite financial challenges, the government continues to prioritize welfare schemes, he added.
The Minister highlighted key initiatives such as the distribution of fine rice, Indiramma housing scheme, loan waivers for farmers, and Rythu Bharosa. He also mentioned that ration cards have been issued to eligible beneficiaries.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to good governance, he said the budget will ensure benefits reach all sections of society and contribute to inclusive growth.
The minister participated in the puja as part of Ugadi Vedukalu at Gandhi Bhavan along with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and other party leaders on this occasion.
