Launches Y20 India Celebrations at EFLU
Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan exhorted the students to convert obstacles into opportunities. “You must face the challenges in life head-on to emerge stronger with each hurdle,” she said. The Governor was launching the “Y20 India (Youth-20) Celebrations” at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) campus, here.The Y20 celebrations were initiated as a part of the India’s G20 Presidency in universities across the country.
On the occasion, Tamilisai Soundararajan advised the students to practice Yoga on a regular basis and take up sports as a part of daily life. “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, our country is steadily transforming as self- reliant nation,” she said. The Governor stated that it is high time that our youth need to find their potential and realise it to the highest level.” Youth have an immense role to play in our country’s progress towards sustainability and self reliance,” she added. “They should become psychologically, emotionally, and physically strong to face the challenges with courage,” she added.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, EFLU, and Member, UGC, New Delhi, said that our country has got the advantage of having higher percentage of youth population in the world.” It is time that we harness the power of youthful demography to our country’s advantage,” he said. As part of the event, the Governor distributed the cash prizes to the winners and certificates to the participants of the Y20 India elocution competitions organised by the EFLU.
Later, the Governor took part in an informal interactive session with students as part of the Meet A Leading Light (MALL) initiative of the university.She responded to a host of questions posed by enthusiastic students and inspired them. Senior academic administrators, students, faculty, and staff took part in large numbers in the Y20 India Celebrations.
