NEP can transform India into a global knowledge superpower – Dr.Manjunath Dy. Commissioner Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has launched Virtual Open School empowered with Blended Learning using state-of-the-art technologies- Anil Kumar, Regional Director, NIOS

The five principles of National Education Policy-2020 is being taught in the way to preserve the culture of the nation said Dr. D. Manjunath, Deputy Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Hyderabad.

Addressing a Press Conference today on “Three years of NEP-2020” at KV School, Picket, Shri Manjunath said that the NEP-2020 was launched by the Central Government on 29 July 2020 and the policy is being implemented with the aim of providing quality education to all sections of the society.

“There will be huge changes in the education system in the country through the NEP and this can transform India into a global knowledge superpower. The approach provides reforms at all levels from school to higher education”, he added. “The National Education Policy is being also implemented with the objective of providing training to the students in the school on the required vocational education and accountability of the teachers and it will help in enhancing the skill on vocational education”, informed Dr. Manjunath.

Highlighting some of the initiatives of KV Sanghatan, he said that Vidyanjali is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, with the aim to strengthen Schools through community and private sector involvement in schools across the country. In this programme the community, volunteers interact and connect directly with schools of their choice to share their knowledge and skills as well as contribute in the form of assets/material/equipment, he said. NISHTHA is a “National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement” under Samagra Shiksha- a flagship programme of Ministry of Education is another one under NEP, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Kumar, Regional Director, NIOS informed on the initiatives being taken by NIOS in implementing the NEP-2020. NIOS aims to reach many learners with the flexibilities and unique set of facilities especially for the learners with special needs. NIOS has devised numerous strategies to make sign language learning resources available to deaf learners using technology. Total 906 videos in sign language developed. National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has launched Virtual Open School empowered by Blended Learning with the integration of state-of-the-art technologies. Learners willing to register for Virtual Open School can use this online learning platform, he informed.

Dr. Ramesh Regional Director IGNOU, Sunitha Rao, CBSE City Commissioner also spoke on the initiatives being taken by their respective institutions in implementing the NEP-2020. different projects prepared by KV Picket school were exhibited on the theme of ‘Three Years of National Education Policy-2020’. Principals of KV Picket, KV Begumpet and teachers were present on the occasion.
