NTPC Ramagundam under its CSR activities, distributed 10 varieties of vegetable seeds (creeper, leafy and normal vegetables) worth ₹7.28 lakhs to 110 farmers from four project-affected villages at Life Skill Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kumar, Executive Director (Ramagudam & Telangana) said, “We strongly believe in giving back to the society through various social, economic and environmental initiatives. As farmers are the backbone of the society, NTPC Ramagundam is committed to take measures to support them earn their livelihood and march towards progress”.
He further asked the farmers to use these seeds wisely and follow the scientific way of farming to yield better results.The seeds included brinjal, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, Okra (ladies finger), bitter gourd, tomato, green chilies, spinach, amartas, coriander. etc. NTPC Ramagundam CSR officials mentioned that the other remaining project affected villages shall also be covered phase wise. Head of HR, Vijaya Lakshmi Muralidharan, farmers of project affected villages were also present on the occasion along with the office bearers of Union and Association.
