Plantation drive “Pradushan Se Azadi” organised

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence various activities conducted under the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Income Tax department participated in the plantation drive “Pradushan Se Azadi” programme at three different venues.

Padma Shri Daripalli Ramaiah, Environmentalist & Social Worker and Shri M. Vijaya Ram Kumar (Environmentalist, Artist & Entrepreneur) were felicitated on this occasion. The Environmentalists were part of the plantation drive at I.T. Residential Complex, Road No.10, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad which was led by the Pr.CCIT, AP & TS Region.

Shri Atul Pranay, Pr. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Region has outlined the importance of conservation of nature and stated the eminent environmentalists are working very hard to conserve nature and we on our part has to ensure that such programmes need to be conducted regularly. He stated that Income Tax Department, AP & TS region always strives to be part of these initiatives and works towards a better society. He stated that as part of the Plantation Drive ‘Pradushan se Azadi’, the Department has planted more than 5000 saplings all over Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Region on 18.09.2021.

Smt. Vasundhara Sinha, IRS Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Hyderabad has led the plantation drive at Dulapally Reserve Forest wherein 700 saplings were planted with the help of Forest Department, Telangana.

Shri M J Akbar IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Hyderabad attended the programme. He has explained that the Forest Department was actively involved in more plantation programmes, to create more greenery. Shri Daripalli Ramaiah, Padma Shri awardee also participated in the event and encouraged officials to plant trees. The programme was attended by various officers and officials of Income Tax Department. Smt Vasundhara Sinha, DGIT(Inv.) Hyderabad has stated that by this initiative we are moving towards a more greener and healthier society.
