Two crore people vaccinated in Telangana

Somesh Kumar, Chief Secretary, today informed that the State has so far vaccinated two Crore people in a short period due to the efforts made by the State Health Department, GHMC and district officials. He complimented the concerned department officials at a programme held at BRKR Bhavan on achieving the target of  2 Crore vaccinations in the State.

Mr. Somesh Kumar also said that the officials are tirelessly working on vaccination to eligible persons. The vaccination process started  in January, 2021.  Administration of one crore doses was completed on 25th June, 2021 i.e. in 165 days. To reach a total of 2 crore doses it took 78 days i.e. on 15th September 2021, he said.

The Chief Secretary stated that government is planning to achieve administrating of another one crore doses in the State by end of this month. 52% of persons have been covered by at least one dose. In GHMC, almost all people are vaccinated by one dose. He also informed that vaccine was administered to  38 lakh persons from high exposure groups across the state. AM Rizvi, Secretary Health, Lokesh Kumar, GHMC Commissioner, Ronald Rose, Spl.Secretary to Finance, Sarfaraj Ahmed, DPE, Dr. G.Srinivas Rao, DPH, Dr. Gangadhar, OSD to Hon’ble CM were present in the meeting.
