Telangana, Hiroshima Explore Partnership in Employment and Skill DevelopmentJapanese delegation calls on Minister Vivek Venkatswamy
Hyderabad, June 5: A delegation from Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, met Telangana Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy on Friday at his chamber in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. The meeting was facilitated by the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM).
During the interaction, the Japanese delegation briefed the Minister on employment opportunities available for Indian youth across various industries and sectors in Japan. Discussions focused on exploring avenues of cooperation between Telangana and Japan in the areas of skill development, international employment opportunities, and the development of a trained workforce.
The delegation noted that the relationship between Japanese cities and Hyderabad has a history spanning two decades and that the partnership is currently celebrating its 20th year.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said that the Telangana Government is actively preparing the state’s youth to seize global employment opportunities. He highlighted TOMCOM’s professional and focused efforts in creating pathways for overseas employment and enhancing the employability of Telangana’s youth.
The Minister also expressed his admiration for Japan’s technological excellence and work culture. He remarked that he was impressed by the precision of Japanese machinery as well as the humility and discipline of the Japanese people.
During the meeting, LETF Secretary Ms. Dasari Harichandana, IAS delivered a comprehensive presentation on Telangana’s growth potential. She outlined various initiatives being undertaken by the State Government, including skill development programmes, workforce upgradation, and international placement opportunities. She also proposed the formation of a Joint Working Group between Telangana and Hiroshima Prefecture to further strengthen collaboration and expand employment opportunities.
The delegation, comprising representatives from Hiroshima Prefecture and the NaRa Japan Hub, included:
