Telangana Begins Stakeholder Consultations on New Labour Codes
Meetings from June 11 to 16 for Finalisation of State Rules
Hyderabad, June 10:
The Government of Telangana has initiated the process of finalising the State Rules under the four New Labour Codes by constituting four Officers’ Committees, in accordance with the Government’s instructions issued on June 1, 2026.
As part of an extensive stakeholder consultation exercise, the Code-wise Committees will hold discussions with representatives of Employers’ Associations, Employees’ and Workers’ Trade Unions, and other stakeholder organisations. The meetings will be conducted at the Office of the Commissioner of Labour, T. Anjaiah Bhavan, RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad.
The consultation schedule is as follows:
• Code on Social Security, 2020 – June 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM
• Code on Wages, 2019 – June 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM
• Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 – June 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM
• Industrial Relations Code, 2020 – June 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM
The meetings are being organised to obtain feedback, views and suggestions from employers, workers, trade unions and other trade and industry associations on the draft rules proposed under the respective Labour Codes.
Officials stated that the consultation process is intended to ensure that the State Rules are comprehensive, practical and reflective of the concerns and expectations of all stakeholders. The Government aims to create a balanced regulatory framework that safeguards workers’ welfare while promoting industrial growth and ease of doing business.
The Commissioner of Labour has invited all interested employers’ bodies, workers’ organisations, trade unions and stakeholder associations to participate in the scheduled meetings and contribute their valuable inputs towards framing effective and inclusive State Rules under the New Labour Codes.
The stakeholder consultations are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the implementation framework of the Labour Codes in Telangana, ensuring that the interests of both employers and employees are adequately addressed.
