Weekly Praja Palana Programme Provides Direct Platform for Public Grievance Redressal
Around 120 Petitions Received; Officials Directed to Ensure Prompt Action
Hyderabad, July 8: Telangana Labour, Employment, Training, Factories, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy on Wednesday reiterated that the Congress Government remains firmly committed to ensuring the welfare of the people through transparent, accountable and responsive governance.
The Minister said the weekly Praja Palana programme, organised at Gandhi Bhavan, reflects the Government’s people-centric approach by providing citizens with a direct platform to present their grievances and seek timely redressal.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy was speaking to the media after participating in the Praja Palana programme held at Gandhi Bhavan. People from different parts of the State and various sections of society met the Minister and submitted representations on a wide range of public issues. Accompanied by senior party leaders and office-bearers, the Minister personally received the petitions, reviewed several grievances on the spot and assured applicants that appropriate action would be taken on all pending issues.
The Minister said a number of grievances brought before him were resolved immediately, while the remaining petitions had been forwarded to the respective government departments and officials with instructions to take necessary action without delay.
He emphasised that every representation would be examined on priority and disposed of in a transparent and time-bound manner, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to efficient public service delivery.
Highlighting the Congress Government’s welfare agenda, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said several flagship welfare programmes are being implemented across Telangana for the benefit of eligible citizens. He noted that new ration cards have already been issued to eligible beneficiaries across the State and described the ration card as a vital document for accessing a range of welfare schemes, including the Indiramma Housing Scheme and other government benefits.
“The weekly Praja Palana programme at Gandhi Bhavan serves as an effective platform to identify people’s problems, interact with them directly and ensure that their grievances are resolved in a timely, transparent and accountable manner,” the Minister said.
During the programme, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy received around 120 representations relating to employment, pensions, Indiramma Housing, land disputes and other public grievances. He directed the concerned officials to examine each petition on priority and take prompt action to ensure early resolution.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance, the Minister said such outreach programmes strengthen public confidence in the administration and ensure that people’s concerns are addressed efficiently and transparently.
