Naresh Anand takes over as Regional Executive Director, NTPC Southern Region

Naresh Anand has taken over as Regional Executive Director (RED) of NTPC Southern Region. Prior to this, Mr.Anand was Member (Thermal), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Government of India. A Mechanical Engineering Graduate (Gold Medalist) from Punjab University, Chandigarh, he joined NTPC as an Executive Engineer Trainee in 1984. He has experience in the areas of Mechanical Erection & Maintenance, MTP, Commercial, Business Development and Planning. Also Mr. Anand held several important positions in a career spanning over 37 years and worked at NTPC Rihand (UP); Dadri (UP);National Capital Region Headquarters; Faridabad (Haryana);Corporate Centre (Delhi); Dulanga Coal Mine (Odisha); Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company(Pvt.) Limited (a 50:50 Jointventure Company between NTPC Limited and Bangladesh Power Development Board); DBF Headquarters and Eastern Region Headquarters, Bhubaneswar.

To his credit, while working in Commercial department, Shri Anand was at forefront in dealing with Distribution Companies and boundary management. He has also handled the Regional Commercial department.As Head of Project at NTPC’s Dulanga Coal Mine,he created a self-sustaining business model and developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coal mining. He was also responsible for land acquisition, community development & capacity building programs at Dulanga mine. Further continuing his excellence, while leading a diversified multi-cultural workforce as Managing Director of BIFPCLfor three years, he was instrumental in building the BIFPCL’s image as a socially responsible & environmentally conscious Corporate that engages productively with each of its stakeholders. Subsequently, he shifted to CEA at Delhi where he was instrumental in policy formulation with respect to energy need of the nation.
