TOMCOM Opens Pathways for Overseas Jobs: Minister Vivek

Lakhs of Jobs in Germany; Telangana Gig Workers Act a Model for the Nation

Mancherial, April 15: Labour and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy said that the state government is committed to creating extensive overseas employment opportunities for youth. He stated that the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) is actively facilitating international job placements.

Highlighting global demand, the Minister revealed that Germany requires nearly 5 lakh workers annually. In this context, the country has expressed willingness to issue around 90,000 visas each year, opening significant opportunities for Indian youth.

He further noted that through Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), the state is providing skill development training to about 25,000 youth every year, with an investment of nearly ₹4,000 crore. In addition, TOMCOM is offering German language training within just four months to enhance employability abroad. The Minister was addressing the media during a press meet held in Chennur.

Cautioning youth against fraudulent private agencies, he advised them to rely only on official platforms like TOMCOM. He emphasized that Indian youth have earned a strong reputation internationally for their discipline and respect for laws. Jobs in Germany, he added, can offer salaries exceeding ₹2 lakh per month.

The Minister said the Congress government is progressing towards fulfilling its promise of providing two lakh jobs, and credited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for already enabling over one lakh job opportunities.

He urged unemployed youth to make full use of TOMCOM initiatives. He also noted that the Telangana Gig Workers Act has emerged as a model for the nation, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the unorganised sector.
