₹16.53 Crore Development Works Launched in Ameenpur
Ameenpur to Be Developed into a Model Urban Local Body; More Funds Based on Public Needs: Minister Dr G Vivek Venkatswamy
Ameenpur, July 22: Telangana Minister for SHAKTI (Labour, Employment, Training & Factories) and Mines, Dr G Vivek Venkatswamy, on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for development works worth ₹16.53 crore in Ameenpur, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to strengthening civic infrastructure in the rapidly growing municipality.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the government is implementing a phased development plan to provide all essential urban infrastructure required for Ameenpur’s expanding population. The works include CC roads, underground drainage (UGD), storm water drains, development of the crematorium, and construction of central medians, all aimed at improving the quality of life for residents.
Dr Vivek Venkatswamy said the government has prepared a comprehensive plan to transform Ameenpur into one of Telangana’s model urban local bodies. He assured that additional funds would be sanctioned if officials submit proposals for priority development works based on public requirements.
Highlighting the government’s welfare initiatives, the Minister said infrastructure development is being implemented alongside social welfare programmes. He said every eligible family would benefit from schemes such as new ration cards, free electricity up to 200 units, distribution of fine rice, and construction of Indiramma LIG houses.
Reviewing preparedness for the possible impact of El Niño, Dr Vivek directed officials to take preventive measures to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply. He instructed them to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the coming year and assured that additional funds would be released if necessary.
The programme was attended by TGIIC Chairman Nirmala Jagga Reddy, MLC Anji Reddy, public representatives, and senior government officials.
