ATCs Opening New Global Career Pathways for Telangana Youth: Minister Vivek Venkatswamy

Hyderabad, June 6: Telangana’s youth are being equipped to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving global job market through the State Government’s initiative to transform conventional Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said on Friday.

The Minister made the remarks after visiting the Mallepally Advanced Technology Centre along with media representatives. During the visit, students and trainers demonstrated the centre’s advanced infrastructure, modern equipment and industry-oriented training programmes designed to meet the needs of emerging sectors.

Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the Telangana Government, in partnership with Tata Technologies Limited (TTL), has undertaken a major initiative to strengthen the State’s skill development ecosystem. The programme has facilitated investments worth nearly ₹4,000 crore, enabling the creation of world-class training infrastructure and expanding employment opportunities for youth in both domestic and international markets.

He noted that the Government is also providing stipends to students enrolled in ATCs, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent young people from acquiring advanced technical skills and industry-relevant training.

According to the Minister, modernising training institutions in line with technological advancements will help create a highly skilled workforce capable of meeting the requirements of future industries. The initiative is expected to significantly improve employment prospects for Telangana’s youth while reinforcing the State’s position as a leader in skill development.

Describing the Advanced Technology Centres as a “golden opportunity” for young people, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy urged students to make full use of the facilities available to them. He emphasised that discipline, dedication and continuous learning remain essential for success in today’s competitive environment.

“These Advanced Technology Centres are laying the foundation for Telangana’s future employment ecosystem. They are preparing our youth to seize opportunities not only across India but also at the global level,” the Minister said.

He added that, alongside the upgradation of ITI infrastructure, extensive training programmes are being conducted for instructors and faculty members to ensure that students receive quality education and practical training aligned with industry requirements.

Expressing confidence in the initiative, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the ATCs would play a pivotal role in developing a skilled workforce and serve as a milestone in establishing Telangana as one of India’s premier destinations for skill development.

Photo and Technology Exhibition

As part of the programme, a special photo exhibition and technology showcase were organised at the Mallepally ITI campus. Students who had completed their training and secured employment shared their experiences with the Minister and media representatives.

They said the transformation of the institute into an Advanced Technology Centre had significantly enhanced their skills, improved their employability and brought positive changes to their lives.

The Minister appreciated the efforts of department officials, trainers and staff for their dedication to providing quality training and employment opportunities to young people. He called upon them to continue working with the same commitment to build a brighter future for the coming generations of Telangana.
