Hyderabad, August 17, 2026: AISTS INDIA and Young India Physical Education & Sports University (YIPESU) have entered into a strategic academic partnership aimed at strengthening sports education in Telangana, developing globally benchmarked academic programmes and positioning the state as a leading destination for international sports education.
The partnership establishes a long-term framework for collaboration between the two institutions, with a key focus on jointly offering the AISTS INDIA Post Graduate Certificate Programme (PGCP). The initiative is expected to create stronger academic and career pathways for students through student exchange opportunities, internships, industry exposure and placements.
The collaboration will connect students with the broader Indian and international sports ecosystem while also exploring the development of internationally benchmarked programmes in sports management and related disciplines.
Government extends full support
Expressing his support for the partnership, Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, Hyderabad Metropolitan Area & Department of Sports, Government of Telangana, said the government would extend full support to ensure that the initiative benefits a wide cross-section of youth across Telangana.
The partnership is expected to strengthen the link between sports education, professional skills and career opportunities, while providing students with greater exposure to global sports organisations, industry professionals and international best practices.
Focus on global standards
Dr. Kishore Gopinathan, Vice Chancellor, YIPESU, said the partnership with AISTS INDIA marks an important step towards placing India’s sports academic ecosystem firmly on the global stage.
He said the collaboration would help build a culture of excellence aligned with international standards and provide students with access to high-quality learning and professional opportunities.
Through AISTS INDIA’s expertise, YIPESU students will gain exposure to globally relevant knowledge in sports management and related fields. The initiative is also expected to contribute to the long-term development of Telangana’s wider sporting ecosystem.

The partnership comes at a time when India is strengthening its sports ecosystem and preparing for major international sporting milestones, including its ambitions for the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games towards 2036.
