MINI Countryman C Goes ‘Made in India’; Launched at ₹47.5 Lakh with Premium Features and SUV Stature
Chennai, June 18, 2026: Luxury small-car brand MINI has launched the all-new MINI Countryman C in India, marking a significant milestone as the SUV will now be locally manufactured in India at BMW Group’s Chennai plant. The petrol-powered premium SUV is priced at ₹47.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available for bookings across MINI dealerships nationwide, with deliveries commencing immediately.
Announcing the launch, Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, said the new Countryman C represents “a new kind of BIG”, combining the iconic MINI go-kart driving experience with the practicality and commanding presence of an SUV. He noted that local production will strengthen MINI’s portfolio in India while offering customers a compelling value proposition.
The all-new Countryman C is available exclusively in the Favoured Pack trim and comes in five exterior colours – British Racing Green, Smokey Green, Nanuq White, Chili Red and Slate Blue. The SUV features a bold octagonal grille, redesigned LED headlamps and tail lamps, flush door handles, a contrasting black roof and 19-inch alloy wheels, giving it a distinctive road presence.
Inside, the SUV embraces MINI’s new “Charismatic Simplicity” design philosophy, highlighted by a 240 mm circular OLED touchscreen, MINI Operating System 9 and an immersive digital experience. The cabin offers JCW sports seats upholstered in Vescin Vintage Brown, driver seat massage function, ambient lighting, a panoramic glass sunroof and a spacious boot with a capacity ranging from 505 litres to 1,450 litres with the rear seats folded.
Under the hood, the MINI Countryman C is powered by the latest TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, producing 156 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed Double Clutch Steptronic Sport transmission, delivering the brand’s signature sporty driving experience.
The SUV is equipped with a host of advanced technologies, including MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, Digital Key Plus, Head-up Display, Harman Kardon 12-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote services and eight selectable MINI Experience Modes such as Go-Kart, Green and Vivid.
On the safety front, the Countryman C boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and comes equipped with ADAS Level 1 features, Cruise Control, Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System and other advanced safety technologies.
MINI is also offering attractive ownership plans through BMW India Financial Services. Customers can own the SUV with monthly instalments starting at ₹56,990 with zero down payment, along with an assured buyback value of up to 66 per cent after three years, making the premium SUV proposition more accessible and financially attractive.
