We Will Restore the Past Glory of Singareni: Minister Vivek Venkatswamy

New Mines and New Jobs are the Government’s Goal

Mancherial District, May 14:

G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Minister for Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology, stated that the Praja Palana Government is committed to restoring the past glory of Singareni by opening new mines and generating fresh employment opportunities.

On Thursday, the Minister descended into the underground section of the KK-5 mine in the Mandamarri Singareni Area along with workers. He inspected the working conditions inside the mine and interacted directly with the workers to understand their issues and concerns.

During the interaction, workers appealed to the Minister to resolve the Income Tax issues related to PRC arrears and sought government support in fulfilling their dream of owning houses.

Addressing the workers, the Minister alleged that the previous BRS government had completely neglected Singareni. He said the corporation had been financially exploited and that not a single new mine was initiated during their tenure.

He urged Singareni workers to focus on achieving quality coal production while ensuring complete safety standards inside the mines.

Later, the Minister attended as the Chief Guest at a felicitation programme organized for Shram Shakti Award recipient Yedukola Pawan Kumar at the KK-5 mine.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the Kaka family shares an inseparable bond with Singareni workers. He called upon both workers and officials to work collectively and responsibly for the development of the Singareni organization.

Recalling the contributions of former Union Minister Kaka Venkataswamy, the Minister said he had secured ₹400 crore funds for Singareni and protected nearly one lakh jobs.

He further stated that the Telangana Government is ensuring Singareni’s participation in coal block tenders in accordance with the laws introduced by the Central Government.

The Minister informed that the issue of Income Tax on PRCs has already been brought to the notice of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He also said that MP Vamshi Krishna is making efforts in Parliament to ensure a pension of ₹10,000 for retired Singareni workers.

He stated that the opening of new mines would create fresh employment opportunities and that nearly 5,000 people would get jobs through the RKP Opencast Phase-2 project. The mine would be launched immediately after obtaining forest clearances, he added.

The Minister also assured that the issue of increasing minimum wages for contract workers would soon be resolved under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Mandamarri Area GM N. Radhakrishna, trade union leaders, officials and workers participated in the programme. The Minister felicitated Shram Shakti awardees Pawan Kumar and Pulluri Laxman with shawls and later joined the workers in taking the safety pledge.
