Congress cadres celebrate Minimum Wage hike for workers across Telangana
Palabhishekams Performed to Portraits of CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Vivek Venkatswamy
Hyderabad, May 25: Congress leaders and labour unions across Telangana welcomed the State Government’s historic decision to increase minimum wages by 34.95 percent for 1.11 crore workers in the state. Celebrations were held at several places where party cadres performed milk abhishekams to the portraits of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Labour & Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy.
In Upparapalli village of Odela mandal in Peddapalli district, local Congress leaders conducted milk abhishekams to the portraits of the Chief Minister and Minister Vivek Venkatswamy. The leaders expressed happiness over the government’s decision, stating that the wage hike would bring significant relief and improve the lives of lakhs of workers across Telangana.
Congress leaders said that since taking charge as Labour Minister, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy has initiated several reforms aimed at resolving workers’ issues and strengthening labour welfare. They noted that special attention has been given to the welfare of unorganised sector workers.
Similar celebrations were also organised near the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue in Peddapalli town, where Congress leaders again performed milk abhishekams to the portraits of the Chief Minister and Labour Minister. They recalled the contributions of former MP G. Venkataswamy, popularly known as Kaka Venkataswamy, for his commitment towards labour welfare and the upliftment of unorganised workers in the Peddapalli Parliamentary constituency.
In Mancherial district, Congress cadres celebrated the decision in Mandamarri and Ramakrishnapur towns. Contract workers and party leaders performed milk abhishekams to the portraits of CM Revanth Reddy, Minister Vivek Venkatswamy and MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna. DCC President Pinninti Raghunath Reddy, Ramakrishnapur town president Odnala Srinivas and Mandamarri town president Manda Tirumal Reddy participated in the celebrations.
In Narsapur town of Medak district too, local Congress leaders organised similar programmes and welcomed the government’s decision. They described the minimum wage revision as a major milestone in improving the living standards of workers across the state.
