Mastering German Language Opens Global Opportunities

Minister Vivek Venkataswamy Urges Nurses to Seize Global Opportunities Through Triple Win Programme

Hyderabad, May 12:
Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. Vivek Venkataswamy called upon nurses undergoing training under the Triple Win Programme to prepare themselves for global careers by mastering the German language and communication skills. He stated that Telangana youth have immense potential to excel internationally if they adapt to new cultures and opportunities with dedication and confidence.

The Minister interacted with nurses during a programme organised by TOMCOM at Tourism Plaza in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, he said working in Germany is not only a great opportunity but also a challenge, as it requires adapting to a new language, environment, and work culture. However, he stressed that success can be achieved through hard work and determination.

“Nurses play a vital role in giving confidence and hope to patients. Half the illness disappears with the reassurance provided by nurses,” the Minister said, appreciating the contribution of the nursing community.

He noted that TOMCOM is creating international-level employment opportunities for youth and described the initiative as only the beginning. He added that if the current batch performs well in Germany, more opportunities would open up for Telangana youth in the future.

Extending greetings on International Nurses Day, the Minister praised the nursing profession as one of the noblest services. He advised trainees to focus especially on learning German, stating that effective communication is crucial in delivering proper healthcare and administering medicines prescribed by doctors. He also pointed out that online platforms have made learning foreign languages easier than ever before.

Recalling his own entrepreneurial journey, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said, “I started my business with just Rs. 5 lakh. When I went to Chennai seeking a bank loan, I struggled because I did not know the language. That experience made me understand the importance of communication skills and language proficiency.”

Referring to actor Vijay as an example, he said modern technology, social media, and communication skills can help individuals achieve remarkable success. He encouraged nurses to dedicate at least one hour every day to improving their skills and to reach a level where they can comfortably read books in German.

The Minister revealed that the State Government has allocated special funds in the budget for TOMCOM initiatives. He also assured that he would discuss with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy the establishment of more nursing colleges and an increase in nursing seats across the state.

Labour, Employment and Training Commissioner Harichandana, speaking at the event, shared her own struggles while learning Hindi for the first time. She said her father worked in rural areas and she gradually learned the language by watching Hindi films.

“You too must work hard to learn a new language. The State Government, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Minister Vivek Venkatswamy are taking special initiatives to create overseas job opportunities for youth,” she said.

She added that the TOMCOM team is striving to provide quality international opportunities. “I spent over Rs. 1 lakh to learn a foreign language during my time, but today the government is providing such training free of cost. You should learn German with commitment and sincerity,” she advised.

Harichandana encouraged trainees to regularly converse with friends in German and practice during their free time. “When we truly want to learn a language, we must start thinking in that language,” she remarked, while also urging them to understand and adapt to German culture.

TOMCOM Director Kanthi Wesley informed that TOMCOM has signed an agreement with Germany’s Federal Employment Agency. So far, 46 nurses have completed German language training, of whom 15 have received offer letters, while seven are already working in Germany.

During the programme, the Minister also interacted online with nurses currently employed in Germany and enquired about their experiences. He requested them to inform the government about any issues or requirements faced by nurses working abroad.
