Training and Final Skill Tests Underway Under TOMCOM
Hyderabad, May 6:
Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy interacted with representatives of the Israeli government and private sector partners to explore employment opportunities for skilled youth from the state.
The interaction was facilitated by Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited (TOMCOM) under the Labour and Employment Department, and was held at the TOMCOM office in Masab Tank, Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
The programme focuses on deploying Telangan construction workers to Israel’s renovation sector in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI) and the Population and Immigration Authority of Israel (PIBA).
During the meeting, Israeli delegates held detailed discussions with the Minister and Labour Department officials, outlining potential avenues for skilled workers and the scope for expanding such collaborations.
Secretary, Labour, Employment, Training and Factories (LETF), Dasari Harichandana; Director, Employment and Training, Kanthi Wesley; along with TOMCOM officials and others were present on the occasion.
As part of this programme, the Israeli government has placed a demand for 1,200 workers in the renovation sector. The National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI), in coordination with the Population and Immigration Authority of Israel (PIBA), has been overseeing the training of candidates in trades such as ceramic tiling, plastering, block masonry, and drywall installation.
A pre-skill assessment was conducted from November 17 to 19, 2025, for a total of 4,247 candidates, out of which 2,059 successfully qualified.
The final skill assessment for 1,200 shortlisted candidates is currently being conducted from May 5 to 10, 2026 under phase-I.
